I'm thinking about...

doing a "100 Things About Me." Should I? Since you guys are the readers, let me know! I've read some really interesting "100 Things" posts and some real snoozers. Not to dump on myself, but my guess is mine would lean more toward snooze-land. Just being objective: don't tell me to get therapy for my poor self-image.

Anyhow, I've never looked into how to set up an internet poll, so, I'll just tabulate the Yes and No votes from the comments and go with that.

Yes=Elizabeth should do a 100 Things post
No=Elizabeth should NOT do a 100 Things post

I, personally, hate that meme. I never get through reading the whole list. You could be the most interesting person in the whole wide world and I'd still scroll to the end. Don't do it.

And if you do, don't tag me. ;)

I sort of kind of agree with Turtle and Wendy. I tend to read about the first 20 things and then skip the rest.

So it sounds like you should start one called "The 20 Most Interesting Things About Me"! (I agree - 100 is too many, but then I think that there aren't 100 interesting things about me that I'd want to share with the whole world)

I have to disagree - I enjoy the 100 things posts, although I do prefer them broken into chunks of say 10-20 at a time.

Your blog, your choice. I know there are some interesting factoids about you though.

Me, I LOVE reading those 100 things lists...that said, I haven't come across one that wouldn't benefit from some judicious editing. Hey, who really wants to know that I contracted foodpoisoning on a high-school field trip to a National Park?

Would it be a cop-out to suggest 50 REALLY interesting things about Elizabeth?

I wouldn't, but that's just me. Elusive and glamorous, I like that (not that I am, but hey, it's cool).

Hm. I'm on the fence. I do find you one of the more intriguing bloggers/knitters/designers out there and would like to know more--but then again, there's something to be said about the elusiveness.

And after about the first 20 I think most people have a hard time coming up with anything original. So maybe 20 or 25 if you decide to do it?

I think you're very interesting!

I think the 20-25 is a good target.

Everyone took the words right out of my mouth - do as many as you find interesting to do. Which is probably many fewer than 100.

Looks like public opinion is running against the whole 100 with a number of folks in favor of the short version.

It's a dangerous meme, for sure. Even Stitchy McYarnpants couldn't keep it interesting for the whole 100 Things.

Franklin's 100 Things is great reading all the way through. But he's an amazing wit.

Maybe I'll sneak in a few factoids here and there. But I'll leave out any history of food poisoning.

yes, i'd like to read it!! I think you are brave....the thought of doing that myself right now makes me tired.....

on second though.....how about starting a 20 item one!

I tried it once. I think I got to 60-something before getting bored myself! I decided that it wasn't worth it. So I'd say no.

i say yes, but like others, i think i would run out of "interesting" things.

How about one a day or one a week as a challenge to yourself? added to your posts that way your regular readers can tune into the next great thing about you - maybe make it a challenge on the knittyboard? sue

If you want to do it, the abbreviated version would be the way to go. Me, I'd skip it. I'd rather see lists like 10 most interesting elements I find in designing, 10 most embarrassing moments (if you're inclined to self disclosure), 10 favorite yarns, 10 places I'd like to go in the world. My take on 100 things, 'cause yeah, most peoples lists are too long and get tedious.

Go for the abbreviated version if you really want to do it. I can't get past oh, 5 interesting things about myself....

I think the suggestion on the knittyboard was a good one. We need an FAQ.

(or so sayeth Sarah who is only about 34 things interesting)
