Avoiding My Tax Return

Last night I got the first sleeve done on the sweater for the new baby. Today, I got the second one done and now I've attached them both with the main body. That area that looks like a mistake running up the center front is where I'll cut the steek for the zipper. I am leaning toward the hood. Owen had one factory-made sweater we were given that had a hood and he really did keep that hood on. I think it was harder to take off than a hat and also, the yarn not at all itchy. Even if this new baby won't keep a hood on, it'll look cute, as long as it doesn't get caught on stuff and create a hazard. Last night when I was falling asleep I was envisioning all the ways I could shape and contour the hood to fit the head. I think making it fit fairly close to the head will help keep it on, too.

And, yes, here it is April 15th and I haven't started my taxes! I still have tomorrow, because today's a Sunday!

The sweater is lovely - those colors really work. I completely identify with knitting instead of taxes. I've been working on my lizard ridge instead of my homework.

Move to New England; we get an extra day to file because of Patriot's Day.

Holy Smokes you knit fast! What an adorable sweater! Knittings better than doing taxes any day! But then again, if there's a return, you can spend it on more yarn! There's an incentive for you! :-)

The sweater is adorable.

I think you have until Tuesday since Monday is a holiday in D.C. Good luck with the taxes! (ugh--I hate doing it so much I gave up 5 years ago and started using a tax accountant)

What a cute sweater! I love the design! Such bright and beautiful colors. :)

Good luck on your tax return. This is the first year I used software and did it all on line...saved me hours of hair pulling. :)

I'm still waiting for my alleged "refund." Which cancels out the money I had to pay the state. Ah well breaking even is better than owing I suppose.

Love the sweater--those diamonds seem to be your trademark (I say this only because of your banner header and that I'm sort of doing "Jilian" and I've been staring at that picture for weeks).

Hood should be safe as long as you don't make it drawstring--but for a baby that young who would?

Yes on the hood! It will be adorable. I love how it's shaping up so far.

Bezzie, you're right. I do put the little diamonds on a lot of stuff, especially kids' stuff. It's one of the simplest Fair Isle motifs around, a good way to use very small amounts of other colors, and I like the way it looks.

cpurl, Hey, you're right! The Deadline is April 17 this year! Another day of tax evasion!

Really cute! Blue and yellow are one of my favorite color combos. They always look so cheerful together.

Very very cute. What a lucky little baby next door! (Of course, we just filed our taxes Sunday night too....e-file is a saviour!)

Very nice! I think you're right, a hood would be cute even if the baby doesn't end up wearing it.
