Young Love

It was the Little Emperor's last day of preschool. Yesterday was "Meet at the Zoo" day (parents included) and today was "Picnic in the Park" day (parents included again). So, for me, the last day of preschool was actually Tuesday. We usually have fun when it's just the two of us. But when we add big brother into the mix, it gets a little difficult.

The picture is one of my little guy with the object of his affection. She sometimes reciprocates. He turned around and glared when he saw I was taking pictures. I felt like papparazzi.

I cast off the body part of the purple cardigan last night. Unfortunately, a long sedentary winter has led to more of a pear shape than ever. I think I should have put some increases in the area under the sleeves. It could use a bit of flare just to get over the spread. I really hoped to get it done fast and have a pattern ready by early June. If I have to reknit the bottom 10 inches, that won't happen. I think I'll finish up the sleeves, band, and collar and then try to block in a little extra girth.

And start walking again!

I sooo know what you mean about what happens when big brother is added into the mix -- We will have an adjustment period around here in a couple of weeks when that happens, too! Too weird you mention starting to walk. I just started my "program" this past Tuesday. Do you knit while you walk? I haven't tried it yet, but was thinking that with the right project, I maybe could...

How precious is that? They are so cute when they are young and innocent.

Yeah, that walking thing. I must start asap, I can't get any of my shorts to button.

How sweet! My son's got the opposite problem...a little girl that can't get enough of him!

I've finally started my walking routine, except this new stifling heat here in the upper midwest is going to put a damper on my anti-pear shape campaign I'm sure.

I'm with you on the walking thing.
We're at two ends of the spectrum - graduating from pre-school to graduating from college - my son starts his job with Ingersoll in Rockford just an hour south of you next MOnday. I was up there this week helping him find an apt - been a busy week. Maybe next time I'm up there we can schedule some tea time or something.
Enjoy the precious times - they go so quickly.
