Heat Wave!

Hey, we're going to be in double digits above zero this week! Maybe it's time to break out the barbecue and eat on the porch.

I've had a slow week, knitting-wise. My kids, like kids all over the upper midwest, had no school on Monday. It was a very long day for us, holed up in the house with nothing to do but bicker. Mr SABLE went to work. Owen's best buddy couldn't come over. The Little Emperor couldn't go outside to play, and by evening he was bursting. Yesterday, the Madison schools had an in-service day for the teachers, so it was a short day. School ended before lunch. To make matters worse, I had agreed to switch my volunteer stint from Monday a.m. to Tuesday this week only. So I had about a half hour of peace yesterday. To complete the disruption of my knitterly activities, there will be no middle school on Friday.

Last night, I sat on the couch and worked on the Andrew Morrison sleeve.

It's nearly ready to hold while I knit the second one: about 40 more rounds.

While I was taking pictures of the sleeve in progress, Hailey came over to offer a few pointers and try to get me to play string with her. The silver elastic you see on the floor there is her all-time favorite cat toy. She fetches it if we throw it and she carries it to wherever we are to try to get a game going.

Wow that sleeve is looking great! I can't wait to see the finished product. :)

Oh and I love the look on your kitty's face. She reminds me of a cat I used to have named Catty (yeah, real original). Such a pretty girl you hve there.

Aww, Hailey looks like a sweetie. We used to have a kitty who would do the same thing with those covered rubber bands.

The sleeve is looking great! Can't wait to see it all! Yikes on no quiet time though! Cute cat!

I love it when cats play fetch.

I'm sort of glad to hear that LE was bursting at not being able to go outside and play. Chunky will start bawling if I ask him how his day was when I pick him up from school and he wasn't able to go outside to play for whatever reason. Misery loves company!

I LOVE how you've done the increase area, having the pattern continuous along the "seam line", and the increases stemming from both sides of that "line"!

We actually got out on Monday, because my son's piano teacher was re-scheduling all of her lessons for earlier in the day. She gave us the option of not coming, and when I said we'd be there, she said, "All of the parents are saying that." I guess everybody was ready to leave the house.....But it was cold! (Well, still is.) Today, my six year old had his first outdoor recess since last Thursday. We're all thankful!

We were still out on Tuesday. I still don't think it was truly cold enough to cancel here (10 deg. warmer here), but am I complaining? Heck, no, unless we have to make it up.

That is a cat with initiative. My cats never want to play with me. Feed me--Change my litter--Let me out--Let me in--Pet me--Open the door so I can sit there and NOT go out. That's all I get.

glad to read that Jim's sweater is seeing daylight at the end of the tunnel.
Andrew Morrison's honorary cardigan is looking mighty fine.
I thought your cold snap was supposed to unsnap by now, but in talking to my son today it doesn't sound like it. Stay warm.
Glad to hear that you're setting up your own site. I've been seeing the Stitch Diva patterns and wondering what's up with the whole GB thing you've been involved with.
