Updates

Mr. SABLE has gotten into making creatures out of beads. He made two hummingbirds and a couple of fish in the last several weeks. This is the first hummingbird.

(My guys all like it when I blog about their accomplishments. Every time they make or do something new, they ask me if I'm going to put it on the blog. I think their feelings get hurt if I don't get to it fast enough.)

As for me, well, here's what I was just puttering away on, out on the porch, in the sunshine:

I'll tell you that it's made out of Hempathy. And that there will be a pattern from it later this summer.

And that I attended a meeting this morning of talented women who are working on making a go of a new print knitting 'zine. More will be revealed!

WOW! I am wondering if he uses a pattern to make his creations, or if your whole family is just full of design talent?!

A new print knitting 'zine?! That is so very cool that you are involved in something like that!!

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Ha ha! Chunky is the same way--"Mom! Put this on the blog! Put that on the blog!"

It's a beautiful bird though. I'm impressed.

Can't wait for more revealing.

OMG, the hummingbird is wonderful. Pass along the admiration to Mr. Sable.

I was wondering about the new knitcircus button. Will be eager to hear the details.

Wow! That is a great hummingbird! Get Mr. Sable to blog about how he does that.

And I'll look forward to the new 'zine. I'm having so much fun knitting your Sloane Pullover!

Very pretty all over the place. I am partial to hummingbirds the way some people are partial to turtles or owls or dragonflies.

Lovely Hummingbird! I hate to sound so commerical, but are there any plans to sell them? My 95-year-old step-grandfather had collected hummingbirds for years, and I know he would love one.

Thanks for your wonderful praise of the hummingbird everyone!

To answer a few questions:
He did follow a pattern for this project. He bought a booklet put out by one of the beading magazines and this was in there.

He did make a clownfish from his own pattern.

Sorry, Linnea, I don't think he'll be selling any. The copyright notice on the pattern booklet says personal, non-commercial use only.
