More cardigan names

Yahara
Lake Mendota
Sand County
Trempealeau
Shorewood (a twofer: ritzy neighborhoods in both Madison and Milwaukee)
Vilas
Bayfield

(I just took a quick look at the Shetland Islands on Google maps. There are some delightful place names there: Twatt, Bixter, Semblister, Catfirth, Freester, Wadbister, Huxter, Flugarth, Swining, Busta (that means "enough!" in italian! Oh, wait, that's basta!))

Then there's the female names approach:
Adrienne
Bonita
Constance
...
Xaviera
Yolanda
Zelda

Constance might work.

I got waylaid from finishing tonight because Owen insisted on playing Monopoly with Mr. SABLE and me. I trounced them! In record time! First, I commandeered all the railroads on my first pass around the board, then I bled them dry. In the end, I owned everything except Park Place. And I didn't even really feel like playing. Go figure.

I like Shorewood. It's evocative and everyone can pronounce it. :)

You wouldn't want to use the first in the list for Shetland Islands!

Oh come now, Twatt is a wonderful name! Heh. No really, I like Yahara or Shorewood. Constance is nice too though.

Twatt Buster!! No, that's wrong, it's Twatt Busta. Busta Twatt? OK--Time for me to get outta the house. I like the names approach. You can go alphabetically, like tornadoes. You've already got A for Alishar. Most of your other sweaters have people names already. Elizabeth Zimmermann lived in Shorewood.

I'm partial to the Wisconsin names theme. I can see the fall leaves & autumn sky. The colors are lovely together.

Personally, I'd stay away from Twatt and Swining. Other than that... not too bad!

I suggest this name for your sweater XXP = extra-extre-patience, or as an alternative Constance! (^_^)

Yahara sounds like a Pitt-Jolie baby. :-P

Yolanda Twatt.

If you don't use it for the sweater, it's what I'm naming this baby...

You all are too funny!

Catfirth sounds like what they spit up after chewing on grass: you know, a lot of spit, a bit of bile, and the grass blades...
never mind.

You Monolpoly Mogul you! I like Shorewood!

Ha ha ha, Twatt Cardigan. I'm not sure you would want to encourage googling that one! No telling what might come up in a search!

I do like Shorewood a lot...

Another vote for Shorewood. Sounds classy, and the blue bands make me think of water viewed through tree branches.

Count me in for Shorewood, too. Though you could make the "secret, unofficial name" be Busta Twatt. Oy.

Shorewood!

I like the image of a wood and a shore...

Plus I think you should stick to names that Google well and can't be easily misspelled!

Yay for trouncing!

Shorewood is boring, even if EZ lived there. Wadbister, on the other hand, I could go for. Or Dana. I don't know why Dana, but there you are. Maybe Drury. Popple. Minott. Snickerdoodle. Pumpernickel.

Would you just name the thing and show us the finished sweater? Some of us are wating with bated breath, you know!

Yeah! Let's loosen up a little, though not so far as twatt. Go Wadbister!! Yay for Wadbister!

Hi Elizabeth -- I just finished knitting Crosspatch with my handspun yarn. Great pattern, and thank you for sharing it!

I like Bonita, because it is a beauty of a sweater and I just saw a bunch of 'similar' Peruvian fair isle sweaters and Spanish seems appropriate.

I like Maple and Birches from the last post. Or Merrimac County.

Adrienne and Bonita have both been used recently for other patterns (not that you can't use them, but they may cause confusion)
