The Little Emperor has had two very loose teeth in front on the bottom for several weeks. Today, when I picked him up at school, he told me he had lost one of them. My little boy is not so little anymore!
to the Little Emperor: HUZZAH! HUZZAH! HUZZAH! That's a mighty fine Rite of Passage (and have him put it under his pillow; my granddaughter did that a while back and the tooth fairy left a golden dollar under her pillow!) It had Sacajawea on it, there are prettier ones now with "late presidents" on them. I think the Tooth Fairy was a lot smaller when I was little - the only thing she could manage to carry and still fly was a shiny dime.
Dentation. At my school the office has little necklaces with a tooth that opens up and the loser :) puts the tooth in there. It doesn't get lost and the kid gets to wear it the rest of the day. They're probably from Oriental Trading Company. I think the PTO pays for them. At the Waldorf school I used to make either a beeswax angel or small beeswax box to hold it. In between those two jobs, I just gave them an envelope.
Just squeezes at the heart, doesn't it? I couldn't believe my daughter lost hers finally (and then she really lost it in the park for some reason, so no Tooth Fairy that night).

Sad isn't it? Chunky wants to buy a lego set and is like two dollars short--he keeps wiggling his teeth swearing they're loose!
They get too big too fast!
Yay! Now the tooth fairy will come! I'm going to try and get a break to go to Knitting tomorrow. I'll need it!

I love that SABLE is mentioned in this article from my back home newspaper! http://www.bangornews.com/news/t/lifestyle.aspx?articleid=154886&zoneid=14
