An FO!

I started these socks a long time ago: not sure when. Maybe early last year? Anyway, I finally finished them just in time to send to my dad for his birthday, which is on the 27th.

Yarn
Schachenmayr nomotta Regia Color 4-ply /4-fädig, 1 100 gram ball, with a bit of leftovers.

Needles:
US 1 / 2.25 mm dbl pts

Pattern: just the totally generic 2 x 2 ribbed cuff on 68 sts. Why mess with success?

The yarn is actually much darker, more black/dark grey dominant than it appears in these photos. I don't feel like fussing around trying to get accurate colors for a project I just need to mail right away.

Those look like the ones you were working on at the Devil's Knitting Camp 2008. Congratulations!

I have that same yarn (now a pair of socks) in a slightly different colorway, and I just love the narrow stripes!

I don't think there's anything better than a good old don't-fix-it-if-unbroken sock pattern.

My aunt has made a specific request for a solid sock, and I'm wondering if it, too, needs to be the same rib sock I usually make. After all, this is the aunt who seldom strays from the traditional rolled-out cookie recipes she makes better than anyone I know.

(Kathy is right, those socks do seem familiar! Congrats on getting them done and mailed!)

Oooh! I recognize them, too, from Last Saturday sessions. I'm glad you posted the all finished photos before sending them off.

Great socks. I love the colors. I'm always hesitant to buy the space dyed, mass produced. I've seen some weird stuff come out of there. I've also never liked the feel of it in the skein. Does it soften up and feel nicer once you work with it and wash it.

I do have to say, I have a pair of regia silk socks... yum. The bamboo from them was eh on the colors.
