Project Reports

Kauni Cardigan
KauniCardi11
It's just about up to the bottom of the armholes.

I was delayed a bit on this because I was working on other stuff: some gifts and some chores that aren't related to fiber at all.

Knit What You Spin Scarf
bluscarf3
On Knittyboard, Sarah challenged us all to use some of that hand-spun yarn instead of just letting it hang around like a Finished Object in its own right. This is yarn I made in summer/fall '06. I was starting to get fairly even and thin in my singles, but still with progress to be made. My plying left a lot to be desired. I'm making a totally boring garter stitch scarf out of it. Roughly fingering weight 2 ply yarn, #4 needles. Easy to pick up and put down between domestic demands.

Gorgeous! And I love that blue you spun, good project, too.

The cardigan is wonderful. What will you do with the sleeves, once you get there? I like the self-striping effects, but I don't know if I could deal with having 2 different sleeves.

The blue/purple handspun is gorgeous. Reminds me I should be spinning more.

I think the Kauni yarn is so cool -- and looks so nice in the pattern you chose!

Is it just me, or is the ball of yarn the same size it was at Last Saturday Knitting last month? The sweater itself looks much longer, but it's like an infinite ball of yarn...

Hmm, does look like an infinite ball of yarn.

Love the color of the scarf. Plain garter, yes. Boring, definitely not. Elegantly simple, with emphasis on elegant.

I'm doing garter stitch with my funky handspun myself.

I love your Kauni!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Maybe I'll take the knit what you've spun challenge too. I didn't spin it to be an ornament in a bowl on my table after all! :-)

I would buy that blue in a heartbeat - I haven't seen anything quite that colour. Very rich and regal looking.

The Kauni looks fab too. :-)

That blue makes me very happy. I may have to copy the picture and use it as wallpaper on the work computer... ;-)

Just came over from the inimitable Kristina's and... that Kauni cardi! It's just amazing. Phew. And then there's the spinning and the colours...

I love the Kauni yarn with a solid color, and what gorgeous knitting!

I'm trying to knit with my handspun too--I'm amazed at how interesting garter stitch becomes with handspun.
