Alt Knitting Camp '09

Hey Listen Up! I have an announcement.

Kathy, Sue, and I have made the reservations for Alt Knitting Camp 2009. It will again be held at Devil's Lake State Park, near Baraboo WI. This year it will run Sun Aug 2 - Tues Aug 4. We have room for 18 campers, total. Twelve spots are spoken for. If necessary, we might be able to book additional sites to accommodate more campers.

Alt Knitting Camp features No Classes! No Workshops! No discernible schedule! Non-stop eating, drinking, hilarity, and knitting. Optional activities include swimming, hiking, canoeing, building large fires, roasting marshmallows, and the ongoing search for the perfect S'more.

Modest fee of about $25 a person includes food and share of camping fees. Admission stickers are required to enter Wisconsin state parks.

To reserve your spot, email me. Or p.m. me through Ravelry or Knittyboard. Or just put it in the comments here. You could even phone me if you know the number. Or track me down through Facebook, if you need more choices.

(Edited June 20, 2009 to keep info current.)

Eeee! Thanks, Helen, for alerting me to this! Yeah, I'm definitely in again this year. You lot are so much fun! :-)

And btw, you do realize there's about eight hundred Elizabeth Morrisons on Facebook, right? :-P

If there are 800 Elizabeth Morrisons, then there must be 20,000 Heathers. Heathers . . . that reminds me of solids & variegateds, kettle dyed and overdyed. Mmmmm, yarn. I would like to begin pronouncing S'mores as Schmores. I have my reasons. Thank you. I would like to see more Madson knitters at Camp Schmore.

schmore schmores, please! woot woot. I do believe Kahlua and cream was our signature drink last year. What shall it be this year?

I'm doing that in a few weeks in Florida, but not the camping part. We'll be in a house, thanks. Just eating drinking and stitching. Hanging out in PJs all day. Have a great time!

Why, I think I can go! I even said so outloud, checked event dates could conflict - AND THEY DON'T.

WOO and HOO! Months to think about tasty treats to bring!

I have put in my vacation slip. I am not knitting any ugly socks at this time and vow to refrain from starting any ugly socks at camp. I also think this might be the year I actually leave the campsite!

no ugly socks! Whew, don't have to listen to you complain ;) Aren't we up to about 7 now? Gotta love it!

Me me me...?? Am I too late? I find I can do it too (might be leaving for GP the next day, but what the heck!) I think I won't be inimidated by all the Real Knitters -- and the thought of *that company* and s'mores? Woot! (Let me know if I AM too late; there IS a Plan B)

Yes, please, Dale-Harriet, do come. We spend a lot of time being putter-uppers, not putter-downers. You'll like it there. I think we should hire the Barrista guy from the last Saturday Victor Allen's. We can set him up at Elizabeth's little camp stove! Perfect. I hope he brings donuts.

I just found your site and would LOVE to join you. But, I'm nursing a needy baby and will be still in August so perhaps next year? I live in Appleton and love, love, love to knit. I also love to canoe and camp. Devil's Lake is such a pretty place. Please put me on your email list so I can try to come in 2010. lonetteanderson@yahoo.com
Thanks!
